My name is Niamh McEnery and I have lived in Pinner all my life. I still live in the road I grew up in, which is in the ward I would like to be an Independent Councillor in.
I am married to Johnny, a local gardener based in Pinner and have two children. I work in the world of PR & communications, as well as teaching on the BA (Hons) Fashion Public Relations and Communication course at London College of Fashion.
I am passionate about the community, volunteering and social responsibility. In my past roles I have managed events such as Earth Day, volunteering days for 300+ volunteers and set up scholarship funding for youth groups.
I have an extensive background in communications, having worked for many organisations ranging from charities such as Barnardo’s and the Variety Club through to corporate organisations building programmes such as volunteering days across Northern Europe for Timberland through to local community projects for the likes of Starbucks and Discovery Networks. I have over 20 years of experience working in Public Relations sector specialising in Crisis Management, along with Corporate Social Responsibility, Volunteering sector and Business Ethics.
Five years ago, I co-founded a locally based Women’s Institute, HA:WI, providing a community focused group for local women to make new friends, learn new skills, while having fun.
I am also the ‘face’ behind Proud of Pinner, the community action group set up to make us aware of what is happening to PINNER, good or bad. You can find more information on either Facebook and Twitter.
